LabVenture
LabVenture is a hands-on science education program hosted at the Gulf of Maine Research Institute. For the past 15 years, we have transported roughly 10,000 Maine middle school students to GMRI’s Commercial St. lab each year, free of charge, for a day of interactive science learning. Students work in teams to gather scientific evidence about change in the Gulf of Maine through hands-on and high-tech research. LabVenture exposes young Mainers to authentic science tools and methods of inquiry that are far beyond the reach of most Maine classrooms.

The Gulf of Maine Research Institute pioneers collaborative solutions to global ocean challenges. Located in Portland, ME, GMRI is dedicated to the resilience of the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and the communities that depend on it.
